Activity Key Steps:

Visit MathNspired.com for additional Action Consequence activities and information.

Students will design a staircase between the first and second floors of a house. They will determine whether the slope of the staircase is positive or negative, and calculate the slope using the Slope tool.

Students will then manipulate the staircase until it has a specified slope, and calculate the slope by hand to verify. They will use their new staircase design to find the number of steps that would need to be built.
