Algebra I
Activity:
Domain and Range
Posted on Feb 18, 2010
Topic: Linear Equations and Functions
Students describe a set of x-values in both symbols and words, identifying the set of x-values used in generating the function as the domain of the function and the set of y--values used in generating the function as the range of the function.

Students will identify the domain and range of a relation from the graph. By dragging a point along each relation graph, students will be able to visualize the values of the domain and range as those areas are highlighted on the axes.
Next, students will create a graph of a line that satisfies a set of domain and range conditions. Throughout this lesson, students will describe domain and range values in words and in symbolic expressions.
