Graphs of Linear Functions

In this activity, students investigate the connections between the points on a line and the equation of the line written in slope-intercept form.

Activity Key Steps:


Students first find the coordinates of the points using the Coordinates and Equations tool from the Tools menu.


Next, students can move to the Calculator application to calculate the slope of the line, using the slope formula with any pair of points shown.


In Problem 2, students are to construct two lines parallel to the given line, one through point A and the other through point B.


Students will then use the Perpendicular tool to draw two lines perpendicular to the given line, one passing through the each of the points A and B.
