Students will apply knowledge of perfect square quadratics to solve real-world problems. Students will design dinner and cocktail napkins given different border measurements. The purpose of the program is to calculate the area of the decorative portion of the napkin.
Students will examine different values for the decorative border area on two different sides. Then students will examine how to determine the area of just the border area.
Finally, students will apply the information to find the coefficient and constant term of a cocktail napkin with new dimensions without going through the process of expanding the new formula.
