Algebra II
Activity:
Domain and Range 2
Posted on Sep 17, 2009
Topic: Domain and Range of Relations
In this activity, students use interactive pages understand the domain and range of discrete and continuous relations. In the first problem, moving point P will place a mark on the x- and y-axis that correspond to the x- and y-coordinates of the relation. In other problems, moving point P will highlight the areas on the x- and y-axes that constitute the domain and range.

Students are also introduced to the concept of open and closed circles and how they relate to the domain and range of a relation. They will write the domain and range as inequalities and in interval notation. At the end of the activity, students will be able to sketch a graph given the domain and range.
