Students will use the ability to find the areas of polygons to design custom windows in a variety of shapes. Students will break the polygon windows into familiar shapes, such as triangles, rectangles, and trapezoids.
Students will find the area of each familiar shape and then add the areas together to find the total area.
Finally, students will apply this understanding in order to find the total number of smaller polygon pieces needed to create all three windows.
