Students will visualize and calculate the sum of the exterior angles of a polygon. Students will determine a formula for the measure of one exterior angle of a regular polygon and use this to discover an alternative form for the formula that is typically used to calculate the measure of the interior angle of a regular polygon.
To visualize the rationale, students will be able change the size of different sized regular and irregular polygons to see that the exterior angles do not change. They will use this application to see the exterior angles when the polygon is reduced in size to a point.
