In this short activity, students will generate single outcomes from a given sample space and observe how the difference in observed probability and expected probability changes as the number of observations increases.
Students will then observe a scatter plot of the differences in probability to visualize the law of large numbers, namely, that as the number of observations increases, the relative frequency for any particular outcome approaches the underlying probability of that outcome’s occurring.
